St. Patrick's Day

So we headed into Dublin for the huge St. Patrick's Day Parade today!

Liz, Julia and Sophie left today so we were aware that Maggie would be sad and that she's not that into crowds so we gave her the option to stay home. She came with us, but maybe shouldn't have. We got there a little late to get all of us into a front row without a bit of waiting in very cramped spaces. Basically the deal with the parade is that you get there early and scope out a spot (probably you'd have to be there by 9 ish to get a front row right away and wait for the parade to start at noon).

We showed up around 11:20 or so, with the parade starting from Parnell Square and continuing on to O’Connell Street. We camped out on Dame Street when I spotted an open window sill for the kids to try to see anything AND sit while Sheila headed into the crowd and slowly, inch-by-inch moved her way toward the front row.

It was a blast and perfect for people watching (Maggie was on the lookout for any of the guys from One Direction).

And people watching...

Here are a few pictures from Sheila's perspective.

We sent Maggie on the DART home to chill after the parade and Sheila, Johnny and I headed over to Croke Park to watch the GAA club finals. I will post on that in a bit and also post some videos.
