We're heading into our fourth full week here which meant for me that I need a hair cut.
I've been out of the country for this long before, but I'm not sure I've ever gotten a hair cut abroad.
We headed toward the hurling pitch to a little mall on Stillorgan or the N11, as they call it. The little mall is a little cheaper than in Blackrock, they've got a dollar store ("Dealz"), a grocery store, a place to get haircuts and a shop to get sports stuff (where we got Johnny's hurley).
Not much at all happened today really. We studied with Maggie and worked on Valentine's with Johnny. I don't think the kids give valentines en masse to their classmates as we do at home. There aren't any packages of valentines at the stores and when we asked one of the gals at Tesco about where the kids' valentines were she responded "they make 'em!" and acted as though we were ridiculous.
Not much else to report other than we are really liking how life has slowed down a bit. Maggie was home at 1 and we were together.
I'm giving a talk on Friday afternoon this week at UCD if any of you want to show up! We're heading for a pint afterwards (another thing I could get used to!... Of course, at UW-L and in La Crosse, we are never far away from a pint!)
